WHAT IS THE RECYCLABILITY CERTIFICATE AND LABEL ?

The Certificate of Recyclability is the result of the evaluation of recyclability carried out by an independent expert, with an independent methodology and which, in addition to physical tests on the packaging, has a triple external review, carried out by the UNESCO Chair of Life Cycle and Climate Change ESCI-UPF and the Gremi de Recuperació de Catalunya. In addition to being audited by International Certification Services Ibérica, S.A.U. in the process of awarding this certificate.

With this certificate, packaging manufacturers and/or packaging companies will be able to identify the amount of packaging material available for quality recycling.

The Recyclability Label is the voluntary eco-label that companies can include on packaging to show the result obtained in the Certificate.

To obtain the Recyclability  Certificate  an expert in reciclabylity thoroughly evaluate the packaging, the physical packaging will be subjected to physical recycling tests, an external review will take place by the UNESCO Chair in Life Cycle and Climate Change ESCI-UPF, to ensure compliance with the criteria set out in the procedures of the Recyclability Label  . It will be reviewed and supervised by the Gremi de Recuperació de Catalunya to ensure that the tests, evaluations, results and proposals for improvement have been carried out in accordance with the recycling processes actually applied in each country.

In addition to the Recyclability Certificate and Label, an exhaustive knowledge of the recycling processes is obtained, of the interferences that the packaging could generate in the processes for its recycling, as well as a proposal to improve its recyclability.
