DRÍADE ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS

DríadeSM Environmental Consultancy is specialized in recycling, prevention, eco-design and the organization of sustainable events, as well as in the provision of training in these areas. It was created in 2016 with the aim of offering tailor-made solutions to public and private entities, so that they can achieve their sustainability objectives and communicate them in an efficient way, always from the prism of rigour and reality. DríadeSM founded in 2018 the methodology to assess the actual recyclability of packaging, as well as its corresponding certification and eco-label: Recyclability Label.

The UNESCO Chair in Life Cycle and Climate Change ESCI-UPF

The UNESCO Chair in Life Cycle and Climate Change ESCI-UPF has the function of continuously reviewing and improving the Recyclability Label from a scientific point of view, without stopping the application of the current versions. It shall also act as external reviewer of the certificates issued, in accordance with the procedures for managing the certificate.

The Chair is created by agreement between the Escola Superior de Comerç Internacional (ESCI) of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on 17 December 2010. In May 2011 Dr. Pere Fullana i Palmer is ratified as its Director.

The Chair has participated in and/or coordinated numerous national and international projects on life cycle analysis (LCA), eco-design, green purchasing and environmental communication (eco-labels) of products, carbon and water footprints, governance in environmental management and integration of social and economic aspects in environmental assessments. The research group from which the Chair originates began its first European project at ESCI-UPF in 2002, while the first life cycle study carried out by Dr. Fullana with application to environmental labels dates from 1995. The Chair has a special interest in the methodology of environmental communication through label and will dedicate its efforts to the continuous development of the Recyclability Label. Apart from a multitude of projects on LCA, carbon footprints or Environmental Product Declarations for individual companies.

Gremi de Recuperació de Catalunya

The Gremi de Recuperació de Catalunya was founded in 1953 in Barcelona and currently has 300 associated companies (70% of the total number of waste managers in this Autonomous Community), which treat 90% of the waste generated. Its plants manage all types of waste: paper and cardboard, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, glass, batteries, tyres, electrical and electronic waste, end-of-life vehicles, etc. The GRC is a benchmark organisation that offers various services to its members and acts as an interlocutor with the Administration to defend the waste recovery and recycling sector and the companies that operate in it.
